  General Remarks of the Enumerator:

“There are a great many swamps in this township and a great deal of the land is stoney and poor. The best land lies in the center of the township and is well settled. The roads are very bad, some improvement has been made and the boundary line road leading from Peterboro to Norwood Post Office in Ashbrood is of great importance to Douro as it is one of the boundaries of this township and some of the best land is convenient to it.”

  General Remarks of the Enumerator:

“The best land in this Township lies between the 8 and 16 lots from the river Otonobee to the boundry of Dumer, from the 16 lots to the Otonobee River is bad land, both swampy and stoony with very few exceptions. The Post road inters the Township off the boundry line on the 2 con and enters Dummer on the 10 lot, running Diagonally through the Township. There is a side road to the north along the river and another to South, both roads runs into the Township of Dummer. The Township is greatly broke up with seder and popler swamps and a small river called the Indian river runs through the South East corner of the Township, which to a great degree wastes the time of the Enumerator.”
